High School Chair
Mr Wilcox has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Pomona College in Claremont, California, and Jesus College in Cambridge, England. He completed his Waldorf High School teacher training in literature at Rudolf Steiner College. He is a founding teacher of our high school.
Mr Wilcox joined WSSD in 2006.
Ms Scatena received a Bachelor of Arts in Letters and Science at University of California at Davis and also graduated from Waldorf Institute of Southern California.
Ms Scatena enjoys spending time with her family, preferably outdoors. She also volunteers for the local Biodynamic farm and is the Outreach Coordinator for WISC.

Profe Gómez has a Master of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Latin American Studies from San Diego State University.
Profe has a special interest for Latin American literature, political theory, music, and cinematography. She enjoys running and hiking with her son.
Profe Gomez joined WSSD in 2015.
Profe Stere Lugo has a Master of Arts in Spanish
Linguistics and Literature and a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Spanish from San Diego State University. She
completed several Ph.D graduate courses at University of
Arizona. Profe has had the opportunity to
work as a Spanish Minor Academic Advisor.
Profe enjoys learning, traveling, and spending time with
her family, friends, and her two dogs.
Profe Stere Lugo joined WSSD in 2018.
Ms Morales holds a Master of Arts in Waldorf Education from Rudolf Steiner College as well as a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and a Master of Science in Wildland Resource Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
The family enjoys live music, river rafting and all-you-can-eat buffets.
Ms Morales joined WSSD in 2011.
Sudha Dorairaj, PHD
Dr Dorairaj has a Ph.D in Chemical Physics from Carnegie Mellon University.
While she is not teaching, she loves to hike the canyons, cook, garden and spend time with her family.
Dr Dorairaj joined WSSD in 2016.
Ms Vance has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Puget Sound. She is currently studying to receive her Waldorf High School Teacher Training from the Center for Anthroposophy and her Masters in Education from Antioch University, New England.
She spent 4 years living and teaching in Cairo, Egypt.
Ms Vance joined the WSSD faculty in 2018.
Jeremiah Johnson has a Master of Arts in Math Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics.
Jeremiah is an Iowa native who has had previous experiences in teaching, coaching, farming, and carpentry. He has grown to love San Diego with his wife and three daughters. Jeremiah has interests in gardening, sports, and reading and has ambition to ride in a hot air balloon some day.

Math Support /
Ms Clifton has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from University of California, San Diego. She has also received her Reading Certificate from San Diego State University.
Her passion is helping a student succeed and be as effective as possible in the classroom to reach their highest potential.
Ms Clifton joined WSSD in 2014.
Ms Kokos has a Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Education, Outdoor Recreation and Land Management, with an emphasis in Youth Programming from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and received her Eurythmy diploma from Sound Circle Eurythmy. She also completed her Waldorf Teacher Training with WISC, San Diego.
She has performed in the United States, Mexico and Europe. Ms Kokos enjoys travelling and spending time outdoors.
Ms Kokos joined WSSD in 2016.
Coach Thomas is currently in his 4th year of Spacial Dynamics, he will graduate in the summer of 2019. He was born and raised in City Heights and athletics have always been a part of his life.
When he’s not being the Waldorf High School Athletic teacher, he enjoys reading Walter Mosley and listening to Louis Armstrong.
Coach Thomas joined WSSD in 2012.
Ms Vance received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Cal Western.
She has a passion for costumes and teaches a class in the tenth grade in costume design and construction, culminating in the class performing their annual play in the costumes they have made.
She also raises dogs for Guide dogs for the Blind.
Ms Vance joined WSSD in 1994.
Fine Arts Teacher
Ms Dedijer -Small has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from San Jose University. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally and. her work has been published several times in Japan’s "Blue" magazine, The Surfer’s Journal, Salted, and Foam Symmetry.
Ms Dedijer -Small joined WSSD in 2018.
Fine Arts Teacher
Ms Alvarez-Delso has a Master of Arts in Education from National University and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from The Rochester Institute of Technology.
She has taught workshops at local craft stores in San Diego and at the Mingei museum at Balboa Park.
Ms Alvarez-Delso joined WSSD in 2012.
Fine Art Teacher
Mr Colletta has a Master of Fine Arts from Yale University and Bachelor of Arts from UC Santa Cruz.
His work has been exhibited nationally and belongs to many private collections.
Mr Colletta joined WSSD in 2017.
Jazz Band Teacher
Mr Whelan studied jazz and classical music theory at San Diego State University and is also a professional guitarist.
He has performed in a variety of professional groups and recently spent two months performing in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Mr Whelan joined WSSD in 2008.
Mr Goldstein is a founding member of the internationally acclaimed Hausmann Quartet. He studied at McGill University, and later as a graduate student at the Longy School of Music.
Mr Goldstein enjoys spending time with his family as well as playing tennis and baking bread.
Mr Goldstein joined WSSD in 2013.
Dr. Warren holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree from UC San Diego, as well as Masters and Bachelors of Music degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of the John's Hopkins University.
In addition to teaching, Dr. Warren is also the Executive Director of the Parlor Orchestra
