High School

Our school has provided San Diego’s children with soulful and loving education for 30 years.  In 2008 we proudly welcomed our first high school class.

With the 2011-2012 academic year now underway, our curriculum, faculty and student body continue to strengthen and grow.  We would love to welcome you to tour our Colina Campus at 4135 54th Place in City Heights, just moments from the WSSD Altadena Campus.  Additional details of the high school program can be found using the menu to the left.

Please contact our High School Chair, Nathan Wilcox, directly at 619.287.3054 extension 302 or at highschool@waldorfsandiego.org to request application materials or for further information.

Waldorf High School

“Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, send them forth in freedom.”
Rudolf Steiner

High School Mission Statement

To awaken each student’s capacity for love of learning, for independent thinking, and for heartfelt service to the world.

Guiding Principles:

An understanding of human development, as elaborated by Rudolf Steiner, is the foundation of our work.  The pace, priorities and practices of our full curriculum, from early childhood through High School, grow out of this foundation.

We strive to have our student population reflect the cultural diversity of the greater San Diego community.

We are a community of students, parents and teachers committed to the principles of social inclusion and environmental stewardship.

San Diego is a border city on the Pacific Rim with vibrant cultural diversity.  Our curriculum will move our students beyond the classroom and involve them in the global community.

We strive to build a caring community of adults and adolescents who recognize and respect each other during the transformative and challenging teen years.

Our Curriculum:

Every student will be supported and guided toward higher learning through a curriculum that integrates science, mathematics, humanities and the arts.

Every student will have the opportunity to participate in team sports and outdoor adventure in addition to curriculum-based physical activities.

“Our highest endeavor must be to develop free human beings, who are able of themselves to impart purpose and meaning to their lives.” Rudolf Steiner
