High School

Our school has provided San Diego’s children with soulful and loving education for 29 years.  In 2008 we proudly welcomed our first high school class.

With the 2009-2010 academic year now underway, our curriculum, faculty and student body continue to strengthen and grow.  We would love to welcome you to tour our new campus at 4135 54th Place in City Heights, just moments from the WSSD main campus.  Additional details of the high school program can be found using the menu to the left.

Please contact our High School Chair, Nathan Wilcox, directly at 619.287.3054 extension 302 or at highschool@waldorfsandiego.org to request application materials or for further information.

Experience the breadth and depth of our curriculum by viewing the weekly academic schedules for our ninth grade and tenth grade.  Find out the latest news about our high school by reading this month's High School Newsletter.

WSSD’s first high school class is pictured here with Greg Mortenson, the renowned humanitarian and author of Three Cups of Tea.  The students welcomed Mr. Mortenson to their classroom and learned firsthand how one person can change the world.

High School Mission Statement

Our Mission

Our four-year educational journey is dedicated to awakening each student’s capacities for independent thinking, love of learning and heartfelt-service to the world.

Our Guiding Principles

Rudolf Steiner’s understanding of adolescent and human development is the foundation of our work.

San Diego is a border city on the Pacific Rim with vibrant cultural diversity.  Our curriculum will move our students beyond the classroom and involve them in the global community.

Our campus, curriculum and practices will exemplify an active commitment to environmental stewardship.

We strive to build a caring community of adults and adolescents who recognize and respect each other during the transformative and challenging teenage years.

Our Curriculum

Every student will be supported and guided toward higher learning through a curriculum that integrates science, technology, humanities and the arts.

Every student will have the opportunity to participate in team sports and outdoor adventure in addition to curriculum-based physical activities.
